On the morning of October 9, 2021, Professor Yu Junsheng's team from the School of Electronic Engineering of Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications and Professor Liu Huaqing's team from Beijing Huilongguan Hospital jointly held an interdisciplinary opening seminar on the digital assessment of adolescent depression in the 337 conference room of the school. Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee Zhao Jining,  Vice President of the academy Gao Peng, Professor from the School of Information and Communication Engineering Li Jianfeng, Professor from the School of Electronic Engineering Zhang Hongxin, Professor Liu Yong from the School of Artificial Intelligence and Professor Liu Huaqing, Tan Shuping from Beijing Huilongguan Hospital Professor Hou Zhijin and Professor Lin Danhua from the School of Psychology of Beijing Normal university  and other experts were invited to attend the seminar, which was chaired by Professor Yu Junsheng.

First of all,Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee Zhao Jining on behalf of the Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications warmly welcomeD the guidance of experts. He introduced the current situation of mental health in colleges and universities in the capital and combined the experience in working with students over the years to emphasize the importance of strengthening mental health, psychological crisis rescue for improving the physical and mental health of teachers and students. What's more, he encouraged medical cross cooperation between hospital and industry to promote the national health strategy of big data and artificial intelligence technology. He hoped that through this cooperation,  students with mental illness could be focused on and everyone should strive for early detection, early intervention and early treatment, and avoid the occurrence of extreme behaviors. Professor Tan Shuping on behalf of Huilongguan Hospital expressed supports for the cross cooperation between the information technology and medical clinical. He combined many years of clinical practice to analyze the traditional subjective interaction judge of mental disease diagnosis was hard and it's difficult to meet standards. He hoped to be able to use the power of science and technology and improve the level of diagnosis and treatment through objective monitoring technology.

Professor Liu Huaqing introduced in recent years, especially since the outbreak of the pandemic, adolescent depression has increased. Compared with the traditional depression patients with typical symptoms, it shows the atypical symptoms which greatly increases the hidden features of the disease and delay the treatment. So the research on the new characteristic of adolescent depression patients is imminent. Professor Yu Junsheng introduced the "four-quadrant classification method of physical and mental health" and the "Mai Zhong Bao" analysis system and "Mood Bao" system, which analyze physical and mental health according to the physiological signals of fingertip pulse. The member Yan Jingyi introduced the design and process of the clinical test. The member Du Chunyan introduced early test of patients from Huilongguan Hospital, volunteers from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications and 2021 graduate students from the School of Electronic Engineering. The results showed that the patient volunteers and student volunteers data were different, which was in line with expectations.

Professor Tan Shuping fully affirmed the direction of digital evaluation and asked the research group to strengthen the stability research of the test system. Professor Hou Zhijin showed great interest in the cross cooperation, introduced the psychology test paradigm, and suggested to strengthen the cross cooperation between the Psychology department of Beijing Normal University and research group, as well as the validity and reliability of the test system. Professor Lin Danhua  agreed with the four-quadrant classification of physical and mental health and expressed his positive support for the interdisciplinary attempt of this subject. Professor Liu Yong suggested multiple methods to jointly verify the effectiveness of Mai Zhong Bao and Qing Xu Bao. Professor Li Jianfeng introduced the successful experience of cooperation with medical institutions. Professor Zhang Hongxin emphasized the use of multidisciplinary experience to carry out research. Vice President Gao Peng affirmed the importance of interdisciplinary medical engineering. He hoped that through the active attempt of this project, he would cooperate with high-quality teams in psychology, clinical medicine, information science and other fields to make efforts in mental health research, so as to lay a good foundation for the joint application of national related scientific research projects in the future.

The discussion and suggestions of the experts at the meeting laid a solid foundation for the following research work of the research group. The opening seminar ended successfully.
